Terms & Conditions

1. Program Overview

The BrightStar Credit Union Refer a Friend Program ("Program") allows eligible members to earn rewards by referring new members to the credit union. Both the referring member ("Referrer") and the referred individual ("Referee") may receive a reward upon successful completion of the referral process.

2. Eligibility

• Referrers must be current members of BrightStar Credit Union in good standing.
• Referees must be new to BrightStar Credit Union and not have an existing account.
• Referrers must be at least 18 years of age.
• Employees of BrightStar Credit Union may be subject to additional restrictions.
• BrightStar Credit Union reserves the right to determine eligibility at its sole discretion.

3. How It Works

1. Referrer shares their unique referral link or code with a friend or family member.
2. The Referee uses the referral link to register on the platform.
3. The Referee must complete the membership application process and become a verified member of BrightStar Credit Union.
4. Once the Referee's membership is verified, both the Referrer and the Referee are eligible to receive their respective rewards.

4. Rewards

• Referrer Reward: $50.00 gift card per successful referral.
• Referee Reward: $50.00 gift card upon becoming a verified member.
• Rewards are delivered electronically via email in the form of digital gift cards.
• Reward amounts are subject to change at any time without prior notice.
• Rewards may be considered taxable income. Participants are responsible for any applicable taxes.

5. Referral Limits

• Members may be subject to an annual limit on the number of referrals that qualify for rewards.
• BrightStar Credit Union reserves the right to adjust limits at any time.

6. Prohibited Activities

• Self-referrals are not permitted.
• Referring fictitious persons or creating fake accounts is strictly prohibited.
• Spamming, unsolicited mass communications, or any form of abuse of the referral system is prohibited.
• Any attempt to manipulate or game the referral system will result in disqualification and potential account termination.
• Referral links may not be posted on coupon, deal, or cashback websites without prior written approval.

7. Verification & Approval

BrightStar Credit Union reserves the right to verify all referrals before issuing rewards. Referrals may be subject to review, and rewards may be withheld or revoked if fraudulent or abusive activity is detected. The credit union's determination of eligibility and reward issuance is final.

8. Program Modifications & Termination

BrightStar Credit Union reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the Program at any time, with or without notice. Any changes will apply to referrals made after the effective date of the change. Pending referrals at the time of termination will be honored if the Referee completes the membership process within 30 days.

9. Limitation of Liability

BrightStar Credit Union is not responsible for any technical issues, delays in reward delivery, or third-party gift card provider issues. Rewards are provided by a third-party provider (Giftbit) and are subject to that provider's terms and conditions.

10. Agreement

By participating in the Program, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. BrightStar Credit Union reserves the right to disqualify any participant who violates these terms.
